Laser Engraving
What is laser engraving and how does it work?
Laser engraving is a precision, high-tech method used to etch or mark surfaces with exceptional accuracy. It’s suitable for a wide range of materials including glass, wood and metal, making it ideal for trophies, awards and presentation pieces. At Best Trophies, laser engraving is used across many of our surface-engraved products, including glass awards, crystal trophies and wooden eco awards.

Your design is created digitally and uploaded into a computer system, which then guides a powerful beam of light — known as a laser — along an exact path. As the laser makes contact with the material, it produces intense heat that vaporises the surface layer. This controlled process creates a permanent, frosted finish, allowing your chosen wording, logo or design to be etched seamlessly into the award.
Laser-engraved markings are known for their durability and long-lasting quality. They resist fading, scratching and general wear, ensuring trophies and awards maintain their professional appearance for years. This makes laser engraving an excellent choice for recognising achievements, commemorating events and creating personalised awards that stand the test of time.
Sandblast Engraving
What is sandblasting and how does it work?
Sandblasting is a specialist engraving technique that uses the abrasive force of fine particles to etch designs onto the surface of an award or trophy. It is suitable for a wide range of materials including glass, wood and metal, making it a popular choice for premium presentation pieces. At Best Trophies, sandblast engraving is often used for products with curved or delicate surfaces, such as crystal paperweights and drinking glasses, where precision and finish are essential.

The process begins by applying a UV stencil of your chosen design onto the product’s surface. Pressurised air then propels abrasive material onto the exposed areas. The sections not protected by the stencil are etched away, leaving a permanent frosted finish with your wording, logo or design carefully engraved into the surface.
Sandblast engraving creates durable, high-quality results by physically altering the material’s surface. This produces a deeper, textured finish that is resistant to fading, scratching and general wear. The result is a long-lasting, professional engraving that keeps awards looking sharp and visually striking for years, making it ideal for commemorative trophies, corporate recognition and presentation pieces.
